Subject: great time at my first moe. show
I was not sold on moe. after the first two sets but i was a sweaty mess by the end of the 3rd set and I think they made me a fan for life. it was really fun.

if all moe shows are as much fun as the 3rd set here then I will keep coming for sure. Rec chem, buster and Timmy where my favorite parts. Buster was crazy fun.

I will be hitting up the boston show coming up, I am quite amused by these guys right now. good shit.

Subject: what they said
previous reviews are spot on, I just add that you should check out the '32 Things' specificly the last 6 minutes or so; amazing to hear the crowd whipped into a frenzy you can hear it even through the jam that is peaking loud & intense. it was amazing to see it there and amazing to hear it here. Thanks moe. and Thanks Tapers!

Subject: This was the best two night stretch I've ever seen them play
It started with head the first night and ended with Cass on the drums playing Godzilla on NYE. Vinnie's daughter on the sax playing their first money since 2003 was just icing on the cake.

I can't remember how many times they thanked US for a good time. I was to the right of Al right up front both nights and they just lit that place up, playing right to curfew both nights with their family proudly looking on. What a great crew to be a part of....

Simply unbelievable, above and beyond the call of duty wildness at times. We really felt blessed for being able to be a part of this and tickets were very hard to get - Easily the hardest of any show I've been to, and man was it worth it.

Subject: Happy Flippin New Year!
I just wanna say that I've been a moe. lover since 2003 when I saw them at State Theater for the first time, however this show was the balls! Right from the git-go the energy levels were intense, the lights and sound quality in there were out of this world and they played excellently together... I'm even pretty sure they came close to opening up a musical portal into another dimension at a few points! My molecular structure has certainly been reconfigured for a new year of goodness! Thank you moe. for the killer show!

Subject: Another great NYE (and NYEE)
This NYE show, along with the previous night (12-30-2011), add to the list of terrific moe. performances at The State Theater. Highlights of this night include pretty much all of sets II and III. Specifically::
--High&Low > BigWorld, Skrunk > ZOZ
--Rec Chem was dark and rose up like a monster
--Buster > ThePit, and then a huge Timmy Tucker.

Thanks Flarcus!!

Subject: Goose bumps
This is an amazing show thanks for sharing; great sound and vibe. +2 for sound +2.5 for vibe total 4.5 stars
My two cents:
Lots of upbeat energy with a few surprise sucker punches.

I get goose bumps just thinking of what it must have felt like when they kicked off the third set with Recreational chemistry; with only four minutes left till midnight. Can you feel the love…happy New Year’s

Subject: More a thanks than a review
This is mostly to extend my thanks to marcus and, by extension, all tapers for their efforts. The included notes give a taste of what these guys deal with routinely. It was through those efforts that I discovered moe. and became a moe.ron and, for that, I'm forever grateful. Again, a hearty thanks for all your work and dedication!!!

FWIW, my take on the show: I was at this show and thought it was off-the-hook great! The jamming was superb - by turns sizzling hot, jazzy, funky, and other-worldly: 32 Things, Rec Chem, and McBain stand out in my mind. But since I was there and having such a blast it may color my judgement.

Notes

Yet another example of this incredibly talented band firing on all cylinders, moe. triumphant on New Year's eve. Not the easiest night to do your best work, distractions and expectations combine to present a challenge that was met with style and brass. 3 sets of throw down moe.

Too many friends to name, but thanks, famoe.ly.

Jason, amazing job under hazardous conditions (losing 1/2 your rig due to drunk chick dumping a beer on and into it, running lights while disassembling, drying, and rebooting your board, and carrying on without a hitch using what was left)! Steve doing dual duty on the lighting board cleanup and repair crew while finishing his 15th year as one of the best FOH men in the business.

This recording is a little clearer and less chatty than last night (jeez, people, its a concert, not social hour).

Enjoy! I know I did.
